Preparation and Promotion to the Club

Swimmers in the Level 7 class are prepared for movement into the competitive club by increasing the volume of work undertaken during each session, by introducing skills required for racing and by low-key time-trials during training. The coaches and the Level 7 teacher meet to discuss promotions towards the end of each term and any swimmers considered ready for promotion receive a letter inviting them to join the Club. The swimmers also are given details of the type of work undertaken in the 1st squad and the commitment expected from them. Swimmers in Level 7 are invited to attend an additional complementary session on a Sunday from 1.00-3:15pm at ISA. Swimmers will only be offered promotion to the squads twice and swimmers must be 11 years old or under to move from the LTS to the Club. Swimmers who are 12 years old in Level 7 will not be invited to return for lessons the following term.
