Aberdeen ASC was established in 1980 and has a history of training swimmers to compete at National and International level. Swimmers from the associated Learn to Swim Scheme, which has a membership of over 900 swimmers, feed up into the competitive squads, of which there are presently 6. We also welcome swimmers from other LTS schemes. The Club programme is designed to be inclusive, equitable and progressive, with all coaches qualified and trained.
The Club is run by a volunteer committee and all parents are encouraged to contribute to the running of the Club.
Scottish swimming membership is required for all of our swimmers.
In order for the AASC programme to be a success, we do need volunteer support. Any parent or older swimmer willing to help out will be welcome. Roles include coaching, technical officials, poolside helpers and a number of administrator roles.
Further to the announcement that schools will return on 11th august we have no date yet for the club or LTS starting. We will be following government anf governing body guidelines and will post message and contact parents by email as plans firm up and know how we should precede.
We’re looking to expand our inclusion swimming program. Click on link to find out how to partner and support this initiative.
